Access policies
1. Open Access Policy
The journal GESTIONES is open access and provides immediate access to its content (no charges of any kind are involved in any article review process, whether for submission, reception, processing, publication, or reading of articles from this journal), promoting the global exchange of knowledge; it operates in alignment with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI). According to the open access policy, users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any legal purpose, without any financial, legal, or technical barriers, other than those inherent to access to the Internet itself.
1.1. Content License: The journal GESTIONES publishes articles under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). The CC BY 4.0 license allows: sharing, copying, and redistributing the material in any medium or format. It also permits adapting, remixing, transforming, and building upon the material for any purpose, including commercially. The licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as you follow the terms of the license. Under the following terms: Attribution, you must provide appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You can do this in any reasonable manner, but not in a way that suggests you or your use have the endorsement of the licensor. No additional restrictions: you may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits. Notices: you do not have to comply with the license for elements of the material in the public domain or when your use is allowed by an exception or limitation that applies. No warranties are given. The license may not give you all the permissions you need for your intended use. For example, other rights such as publicity, privacy, or moral rights may limit how you use the material.
1.1.1. Copyright Policy: The journal GESTIONES protects copyright at all times, aligned with the CC BY 4.0 license.
1.2. Archiving Policy
The journal uses its own archiving system supported by the Open Journal System (OJS) platform provider. This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archive among participating libraries, allowing those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for preservation and restoration purposes.
1.3. Editorial Process Policy
The journal GESTIONES uses an electronic system for editorial management. All processes, including the activity, will be conducted through the platform. Submissions and communications using other media are not allowed. Exceptions may be made via email to request information on how to upload information to the platform or due to poor connectivity at the submission location.
2. Article Publication Policies
2.1. Authorization
Authors must indicate their full agreement at the end of the article regarding the desire to publish the article; at any time during the technical process of the article, they may communicate their disagreement in writing by email. Failure to do so within 48 hours of the last notification from the corresponding author will be considered as acceptance of the publication.
2.2. Frequency and Publication Mode
The journal GESTIONES publishes a single issue corresponding to an annual volume in continuous publication mode.
2.3. Languages of Publication
The journal GESTIONES predominantly publishes articles in Spanish, English, Portuguese, and French. Publication in English is recommended for native English-speaking authors. Translations of articles from Spanish to English by Spanish-speaking authors must be indicated along with the list of co-authors, including the name and email address of the translation professional.
2.4. Citation System Policy
The journal GESTIONES follows the seventh edition of the APA style guide for bibliographic references.
2.5. Privacy Policy
The names and email addresses entered in this journal will be used solely for the purposes established within it and will not be provided to third parties or used for other purposes.
2.6. Post-Publication Error Policy
The journal GESTIONES requires authors to thoroughly review the final version of the article before publication. Authors are responsible for any errors not detected before publication. Errors discovered after publication will be evaluated by the Editorial Committee, which will decide whether to replace the current version or publish a correction.
2.7. Policy on Special Issues or Supplements
Special issues or supplements address a need to communicate specifically about a topic or event or are generated in coordination with a university or institution. The publication of a special issue is subject to the previously outlined situations. Its structure and length will be determined by the Editorial Committee. Information will be mentioned in the "Con Universidad" and "Avisos" sections of the GESTIONES menu.
2.8. Advertising or Commercial Promotion Publication Policy
The journal does not promote ads for commercial or profit-making purposes. However, in the context of scientific activity, the journal’s pages may serve as clear vehicles for dissemination. Courses, workshops, and events related to the central theme of the publication may have space within the journal for visibility.
3. Research Data Opening Policy
The journal GESTIONES promotes the opening of research data, as long as confidentiality levels permit. As part of complying with the principles of Open Science, the author may submit their research data to any of the internationally available servers for such purposes, ensuring adherence to FAIR principles (Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, and Reusability). The following servers are recommended: Zenodo (the same one used by the journal for archiving articles since 2023).
4. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Usage Policy
Authors must indicate if they used AI exclusively or as an aid in any parts, sections, or circumstances. The editorial committee will decide on the validity.
5. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Policy
The journal GESTIONES publishes scientific articles selected through a peer-review process without any form of discrimination. It promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion in research and the communication of scientific information.
