Objective: to identify the university professor's assessment of the dimensions that distance education fulfills. Method: concurrent descriptive mixed study with convenience samples, 43 professors in the quantitative phase and 5 professors in the qualitative phase, using questionnaire and semi-structured interview, respectively. Results: quantitative evaluations are high in location (96.7%), space (93.3%) and technology (86.7%) but divided into high and medium in temporality, interaction and student control; qualitatively, the dimensions of location, space, technology, interaction and student control have a number of favorable mentions of 5, 5, 8, 10 and 9, respectively. The dimensions of space, temporality and interaction have an unfavorable number of mentions of 3, 13 and 4, respectively. Conclusion: The compliance ratings for the temporality, location, technology and interaction dimensions of the quantitative phase are supported by those of the qualitative phase, with the exception of space and learner control.
