Résumé

Introduction : Ce travail examine l’impact des communications numériques dans les institutions publiques — telles que les gouvernements locaux et les institutions éducatives — sur le coût de la vie des populations en Amérique du Sud et dans les Caraïbes.

Méthodologie : L’étude adopte une approche quantitative à portée descriptive, en utilisant comme échantillon les pourcentages du coût des régimes alimentaires sains entre 2018 et 2020 en Amérique du Sud et dans les Caraïbes.

Résultats : Le coût quotidien moyen d’un régime alimentaire sain sur trois ans est plus élevé dans les Caraïbes, atteignant environ 0,57 dollar par personne et par jour, comparé à l’Amérique du Sud.

Conclusion : En supposant qu’entre 2018 et 2020 le niveau et la fréquence des communications numériques ont augmenté en raison de la pandémie de COVID-19, le bien-être a, au contraire, diminué (en raison de l’augmentation du coût d’une alimentation saine) en Amérique du Sud et dans les Caraïbes. Cela constitue un enjeu majeur sur lequel les institutions publiques pourront désormais concentrer leurs efforts.
